Occupational Therapist (OTs) are tasked with finding appropriate solutions for keeping people at home safely, even when they are fragile or living with conditions that limit movement. Creating an environment, which is suitable for pressure care management, is essential to protect service users from developing pressure ulcers and ultimately a failure in skin health.

The appropriate pressure care equipment can support service users to stay in their homes with a successful pressure care management package. Used under clinical supervision, dynamic mattresses, positioning cushions and patient turners can be placed in the home to regularly and safely move patients.

With the introduction of the new Winncare foam and dynamic mattresses to our product portfolio, we are able to work with Local Authorities and Community Equipment Stores to provide good quality equipment supported by training and technical information.

Having trialed two other similar products, the Ekamove was the best. We trialed the Ekamove with a patient who was unable to tolerate lying on his right side, due to a category 4 pressure ulcer, however he could tolerate the Ekamove and his pressure sore improved despite his deteriorating health.
